Community Giving Tent Donation Stations to Open

Riverside Arts Market (RAM) opens the Community Giving Tent Donation Station this Saturday, Nov. 5th through Nov. 26th.  The tent will be a drop-off/collection spot for a variety of non-profits collecting items for community members in need.

Each week in November, up to 4 non-profits will be at RAM collecting items for the population they serve. Clothing, canned goods, blankets, and pet food/supplies are just some of the items being collected for local groups who provide direct assistance to individuals and families in need. RAM visitors are encouraged to support the organizations by bringing needed items from the “Wish Lists” which will be published on the RAM website at:

Located beneath the Fuller Warren Bridge in Riverside RAM features hundreds of artists, musical entertainers, street performers and fresh produce and food vendors. RAM will remain open from 10:00AM to 4:00PM every Saturday until the close of the 2011 season, December 17th.

“Part of RAM’s mission is to help the community by working with other non-profits who are doing their part.” said Executive Director of RAM Teri Coutu, “With the economy being what it is, more people need assistance to get them through the holidays. We’re hoping The Community Giving Tent Donation Station will make it easy for people to give AND receive.”

Participating non-profits include: The Women’s Center of Jacksonville, Waste Not Want Not, the Salvation Army, the Humane Society, and others. Donations will be accepted during Market hours during the month of November.
