Water Taxi Service Begins at RAM

Riverside Arts Market’s (RAM) has planned an exciting day for April 16, 2011. The University of Phoenix March of Dimes Carnival will be held at RAM all day, 10AM to 4PM, and the inaugural water taxi service will begin at Friendship Fountain at 10AM and end at 4 PM.

This is the 2nd year the University of Phoenix March of Dimes Carnival will be held at RAM. There will be games and activities throughout RAM as well as designated areas to donate to the important March of Dimes mission. Last year, attendees donated over a $1,000 dollars. The event was a huge success and a lot of fun, especially for families.

The special water taxi service will make three stops every Saturday during market hours: the RAM boat dock, the Jacksonville Landing and the Friendship Fountain dock. The low-cost-to-ride water taxi allows attendees to enjoy more parts of our city without the drudgery of driving and parking from location to location. Interested riders can identify the special water taxi by the large RAM banners on the rails.

“March of Dimes plays such a vital role in our community that we are honored to team up with them in any way we can,“ said Teri Coutu, Executive Director of Riverside Arts Market, “and the new water taxi service provides such a convenient way for residents and visitors to enjoy our beautiful city.”

Located beneath the Fuller Warren Bridge in Riverside RAM features hundreds of artists, musical entertainers, street performers and fresh produce and food vendors. RAM remains open from 10:00AM to 4:00PM every Saturday until the close of the 2011 season. Each week RAM presents local/regional/national entertainers on their main stage.

RAM is currently accepting applications for volunteers, sponsoring partners and vendors. For more information about RAM, applications, upcoming events or entertainers please contact their main office at 904.554.6865
