The Artist Series Presents Spring Awakening March 24, 2011

Riverside Arts Market Opens 3rd Year this Saturday!

Riverside Arts Market (RAM) Grand Reopening will be held this Saturday March 5, 2011. The season kicks off with the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the brand new, two hundred foot RAM boat dock. The ceremony will begin promptly at 10:15 AM. Jacksonville’s own Mayor Peyton will arrive via water taxi to cut the ceremonial ribbon. 

The Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens Presents the Annual Garden Week

The Cummer Council of the Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens will host the annual Garden Week beginning Monday, March 14 through Saturday, March 19, 2011. Throughout the week, The Cummer will celebrate the historic gardens the Cummer family designed over 100 years ago and that are listed in the National Register of Historic Places with featured guest lectures, garden tours, a floral exhibition, luncheons, fashion show, unique garden items available to purchase at The Cummer Store, one of a kind jewelry creations by Lillian Ostergard, a garden concert and baked goods from Mrs. Cummer’s Tea Table.

“Celebrating the Gardens is important as it speaks to Ninah Cummer's love for beauty in the natural world,” said Kenyon Merritt, Cummer Council President. “The proceeds from this year's event are dedicated to the restoration of the Olmsted Gardens, the last piece of original Cummer family property that has yet to be completed."

The Artist Series Presents TURANDOT

Teatro Lirico D’Europa, the European opera touring company, has completed over 4,000 performances worldwide and 11 consecutive US tours. The popular company embarks on its 12th American season of touring in winter fall 2010-winter 2011 with performances of several different full-scale operas, including a traditional, Italian version of Puccini’s final masterpiece TURANDOT. TURANDOT will be at the Times Union Center’s Moran Theater on Saturday, March 12th at 8:00PM for one performance only!

The EMMA 2010-2011 Concert Season concludes with the presentation of The Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra, a perennial favorite of music lovers in the St. Augustine area.  The Orchestra will perform its “Pops” program of “Song and Dance” on Saturday evening at 8:00 pm March 19 at the Flagler College Auditorium at 14 Granada St., St. Augustine.

A new exhibit is opening in The Loft Gallery at the Museum of Science & History (MOSH) on Saturday, February 12.  The Shell: 530 Million Years of Inspired Design showcases the breathtaking beauty and incredible variation of shells found on the First Coast and throughout the world.
