Women-Owned Small Business Federal Contract Program Seminar

In February  2011, the U.S. Small Business Administration announced the WOSB Federal Contract Program which will provide greater access to federal contracting opportunities for women-owned small businesses (WOSBs) and economically-disadvantaged women-owned small businesses (EDWOSBs). The Program allows contracting officers, for the first time, to set aside specific contracts for certified WOSBs and EDWOSBs and will help federal agencies achieve the existing statutory goal of five percent of federal contracting dollars being awarded to WOSBs.

Winn-Dixie Expands Fuelperks! Program to Help Motorists Fight Rising Gas Prices

Winn-Dixie Stores, Inc., is expanding the discounts earned through its fuelperks! program, beginning tomorrow (April 13), by lifting previous one-item limit restrictions on Bonus fuelperks! rewards items. This means if a customer purchases three of any particular Bonus fuelperks! rewards item that earns a 5-cent-per-gallon discount, he or she will now earn a 15-cent-per-gallon discount for that transaction rather than only a 5-cent-per-gallon discount.

St. Vincent's Medical Center Recognized for Stroke Center

St. Vincent’s Medical Center was recently designated an Advanced Primary Stroke Center by The Joint Commission.  Acknowledging the center as having one of the best stroke centers in the country.  The Joint Commission is a nonprofit group that accredits more than 17,000 national health care organizations.

The historic Casa Marina Hotel and Restaurant in Jacksonville Beach has opened their Penthouse Lounge with sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean for lunch service.  Lunch is now available 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.  Previously the lounge opened at 4 p.m. for cocktails and appetizers.

 

Chef Aaron Webb has designed a New Beach Cuisine menu for the penthouse luncheon that includes appetizers such as polenta sticks, salads including a goat cheese salad, sandwiches such as the chicken caesar wrap in herb tortilla and the mahi calypso. Sandwich prices start at $7.95 and entrees start at $11.95.
