Family Begs for Tips at Vigil for Murdered 19-year-old | SLIDESHOW

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- It was a very emotional vigil for family, friends and neighbors of 19-year-old Kalil McCoy. McCoy's body was found Tuesday after last being seen with friends at Kooker Park on Sunday.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has called this a murder and is investigating.

The family held a vigil Wednesday at the spot where McCoy's body was found, in a ditch just outside of her mother's daycare business.

"I'm not going to let my daughter's death go in vain," said Lynette Roebuck, McCoy's mother.  "We're going to make it mean something."

Witnesses say McCoy was last seen getting into a dark car at the park.

"You wanna say your prayer, say your prayer," Roebuck shouted toward the crowd at the vigil. "But I'll tell you this, if you know what happened, you better open up your mouth and talk."

Things got very emotional at the vigil when Roebuck described the condition her daughter's body was found in. She said she couldn't identify her by looking at her face.

"Look at her face," she said while holding up a picture of her daughter. "Look at her face because we can't see it, her face is so decomposed we can't even see her anymore, so we have to have a closed casket."
