JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- St. Vincent’s HealthCare is proud to announce it has launched a new occupational health program called St. Vincent’s First Care. Formerly known as CompCare, this new entity under the St. Vincent’s name will offer businesses in Northeast Florida prompt access to employee physicals, drug screenings, lab tests and quick assessment of employee injuries. St. Vincent’s First Care services are currently offered at 5600 Spring Park Road with additional facilities opening soon.

“Our new St. Vincent’s First Care program will fulfill an important need in our community—providing businesses with high quality and reliable occupational health care,” said Moody Chisholm, President and CEO of St. Vincent’s HealthCare.

"I think I can speak for many local employers when I say, bringing additional occupational medical services to Jacksonville is a win for employers and their employees,” said Claude Revels, Benefits Administration Director of JM Family Southeast Toyota.

St. Vincent’s First Care will offer a variety of benefits for businesses including:

  • Annual Physical Examinations
  • Pre-Employment Examinations
  • Employee Immunizations
  • Injury and illness treatment
  • Return-to-work evaluations
  • Drug and Alcohol Testing

St. Vincent’s First Care’s Medical Director Robert M. Chapa, M.D. is respected and well known for providing high-quality health care to the Northeast Florida business community.  He founded Jacksonville Occupational Health over 20 years ago when he identified the need for this specialized care while working in the Emergency Department at St. Vincent’s Southside, formerly St. Luke’s Hospital.

“This is a homecoming of sorts, and a very exciting time for St. Vincent’s HealthCare and the North Florida business community as a whole,” said Chapa.  “The St. Vincent’s partnership will enhance the level of corporate and industrial medical care provided through streamlined access to the hospital system, which will result in faster injury resolutions and a healthier workforce.”

According to the Florida Department of Financial Services, there were more than 3,600 reported work related injuries in Northeast Florida in 2011.  In the same year, there were more than 53,000 work related injuries or illnesses reported in the state of Florida.

St. Vincent’s HealthCare is known for providing compassionate, quality care.  This partnership proves our commitment to providing the community access to low cost, high-quality care.
