On June 1, 2012, Howard Weiss, D.O. will become a member of the Brooks Rehabilitation Medical Group.   The Brooks Rehabilitation Medical Group is a team of physicians who are board-certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.  Each physician has received specialized training in the comprehensive management of patients with impairments and disabilities arising from neurologic, musculoskeletal and vascular disorders.    Dr. Weiss’ specific interest and expertise in the area of orthopedic rehabilitation will strengthen and complement the excellent care currently provided by the Brooks physician group.

St. Vincent’s HealthCare is proud to announce it has launched a new url and blog, www.MyClayHospital.com to inform and update the public about the construction of St. Vincent’s Medical Center Clay County. The new medical center is scheduled to open October 1, 2013 and construction is underway.  In the coming weeks, we will install a live construction camera so community members can track progress and see what is happening at the site 24-7.

St. Vincent’s Riverside Announces X-Ray Free Technology for Safer Placement of Catheter Lines

St. Vincent’s Medical Center Riverside is the first hospital in Northeast Florida using new technology to improve the placement of peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) lines. A PICC line replaces the need for multiple IV sticks for people undergoing prolonged treatments such as nutrition, antibiotic therapy or chemotherapy.  In the past, an x-ray was needed for guidance to place the lines but now a new FDA approved device (Sapiens TCS by Bard Access Systems) allows nurses to do the procedure at the bedside without the use of x-ray.

St. Vincent’s Medical Center Southside is proud to be the only hospital in the nation to receive the Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval™ for spinal surgery, hip replacement, knee replacement and shoulder replacement.  After an on-site review in early April, the hospital received the elite designations and stands out as the first hospital in the country with all four.
