Controversial Riverside Restaurant Expansion Up for Public Hearing | News

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville City Council's Land Use and Zoning Committee will meet today to discuss a controversial restaurant expansion plan in Riverside.

The owners of Kickbacks Gastropub would like to add an additional restaurant and bar next door to make room for their growing popularity with customers.

However, some people who live in the area, including members of Riverside Avondale Preservation, believe the project does not provide enough parking for the number of people it would draw. 

The Land Use and Zoning Committee will meet today at 5:00 p.m. in City Council Chambers located on the first floor of City Hall. 

There will be a seperate meeting at 1:30 this afternoon to discuss parking problems in Riverside, which will focus on the King Street corridor.
