Campaigns Announce Watch Parties for Thursday Debate | Politics
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- With only 700 seats available for Thursday's GOP debate at the University of North Florida, many people interested in watching the event will have to do it on television.
But local campaign chairs for the candidates are planning watch parties for supporters.
According to Bert Ralston, the Duval County chair for Newt Gingrich's campaign, they will hold a debate party at their office in Riverside.
Volunteers for Rick Santorum will announce the details of their watch party soon.
The local Ron Paul supporters will be gathering at a debate watch party from 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. at BlackFinn American Grille at the St. Johns Town Center, 4840 Big Island Drive, Jacksonville.
The Paul campaign's post-debate party is from 11 p.m. to closing also at BlackFinn.
So far, the Mitt Romney campaign has not announced plans for a watch party.
The tea party will have a watch party Thursday from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Mudville Grille, 3105 Beach Blvd., (904) 398-4326. Seating is limited.
