St. Vincent’s Medical Center Clay County Associates Report to Work

St. Vincent’s Medical Center Clay County won’t treat patients until Oct. 1, but associates are already inside getting prepared for opening day.  Today was the first day on the job for associates who will work at the new hospital.

“Before associates showed up today, we had a brand new state-of-the-art building.  Now, we have a hospital because our associates are breathing life into the building,” said St. Vincent’s Clay County President Blain Claypool.

The hospital cleared a major milestone on Fri., August 30. It received its certificate of occupancy (COO) from the county. The COO allows associates to move into the facility and begin training.

Claypool and other administrators welcomed the staff outside the main entrance this morning and congratulated them on their commitment to the people of Clay County.

“What we are bringing is exceptional, high-quality care to the people in this community because that is what our patients and their loved ones want and deserve,” said Claypool.

As associates entered the building, the pastoral care team blessed everyone’s hands showing how important the compassionate, healing touch is to our Mission.

The new hospital will open with 64 private inpatient rooms but is designed to expand to 250 beds, enabling the hospital to accommodate the area's growing population.  An adjacent 50,000 sq. ft. medical office building will be home to various physician groups. It too will open in October.

To celebrate the completion of the hospital, we’re inviting the public to a community grand opening on Saturday, Sept. 21 from 10am-2pm.  We’ll have a short ceremony at 10:30am followed by tours, health and wellness information, family-friendly activities, food and entertainment.

St. Vincent’s Medical Center Clay County is located at 1670 St. Vincent’s Way in Middleburg, FL 32068, near the intersection of Blanding Blvd. and Branan Field Rd.
